Training Credit Information for Wisconsin Licensed Foster Parents

If I’m a Wisconsin Licensed Foster Parent, how can I use the training in Champion Classrooms to receive credits toward my license?

Live Webinars

The Coalition for Children, Youth & Families, offers two types of LIVE Webinars through Champion Classrooms:

1. Live Webinars with guest presenters: The Coalition for Children, Youth, and Families, the organization responsible for Champion Classrooms, will enter two (2) training credits into PDS for Licensed Wisconsin Foster Parents for attending and participating in one of the LIVE Webinars with our guest presenters.

2. The Let’s Talk Series: is taught by Coalition staff and offers practical tips and strategies for foster, relative, and adoptive parents. For the Let’s Talk Series, the Coalition for Children, Youth, and Families will enter one (1) training credit into PDS for Licensed Wisconsin Foster parents for attending and participating in a Let’s Talk Webinar.

Recorded Webinars and Online Courses

The Coalition for Children, Youth, and Families, the organization responsible for Champion Classrooms, does not enter training credits into PDS (Wisconsin’s system for housing credits for foster parent training) for recorded webinars and online courses. Training credits are issued at the discretion of your licensing worker and will need to be entered into PDS externally by a licensing worker. Please talk to your licensing worker about the use of Champion Classrooms training for credit.

To assist in your discussion with your licensing worker, the Coalition for Children, Youth, and Families will provide proof of completion in the following forms:

  1. Proof of completion for an online course in Champion Classrooms: To receive a certificate of completion in a Champion Classrooms online course, the learner must complete the final assessment with a 70% or higher.
  2. Proof of completion for a Recorded Webinar: Within each recorded webinar we have included an Information Summary and Application tool that can be used in conjunction with the recorded training. We encourage you to use this tool when discussing training credits with your licensing worker in order to show interaction with the material.
